Board of Education Meeting

March 10, 2008

 

The regular meeting of the Shelby Board of Education was held on Monday, March 10, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the Shelby Public School.  Notice of meeting was posted at (1) Shelby Public School, (2) Pinnacle Bank, and (3) Shelby Food Mart on or before March 4, 2008.

 

Meeting called to order by Jeff Scow at 7:00 p.m.

At the beginning of this meeting Jeff Scow announced and informed the public that a current copy of the Open Meeting Act is posted on the Southwest wall of the meeting room.

Administrative Reports

 

Mr. Stick presented the athletic director /activities director report. He reported there are 39 kids out for track and 10 girls trying out for cheerleading.

 

Mr. Curry presented the secondary principal report.  He reported a duet qualified for state at District Speech.

 

Mr. Stick presented the Superintendents Report. He reported on transportation guidelines Rule 91 and Rule 92; ITBS and ITED Tests are March 10-14 and State Aide Re-Certification.

 

Motion by Roy Houdersheldt, second by Jason Ingalls to accept the resignation of Gail Thraen from her position as Evening Custodian effective February 18,2008.

Motion by Jeff Kuhnel, second by Roy Houdersheldt to approve the first reading of proposed Board Policy 300.26 – the Shelby Public School Title 1 Parent Involvement Policy.

Motion by Jason Ingalls, second by Jacob Nekl to approve the superintendent’s recommendation to name John Weber to the position of temporary third grade teacher for the remainder of the 2007-2008 school year.
