GUIDANCE INFORMATION:
SCC - Milford is now offering a
degree in Major Appliance Professional Technology. This area of study
trains technicians to inspect, troubleshoot and repair major appliances.
These technicians are in high demand and the program of study can be completed
in 9 months. They are also hosting an Exploratory session regarding this
career on Thursday, May 15 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the SCC - Lincoln campus
Entrepreneurship Center.
Interested individuals in grades 7-12 are invited to attend a summer
Transportation Academy in which careers involving truck driving, train engineer
or forklift operator. The Academy will be held at CCC - Hastings FREE of
charge. You can choose from Tues., July 22 or Wed., July 23. See
Mrs. Voss for more information.
A NEW Scholarship opportunity is available from CCC - Hastings and CCC-Grand
Island. If you are interested in either of these schools AND pursuing a
career in Industrial Technology, Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology
or Ethanol. See Mrs. Voss for details.
Apprenticeship program alternative to a 2 or 4 year degree is available through
the Lincoln Electrical JATC. This apprenticeship program allows
individuals to be paid while learning a valuable skill. At the completion
of the program you will receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree from SCC
- Milford as a Construction Electrician. If you are interested in this
particular field you may want to consider this option after High School.
Lakeview High School - Columbus has announced their plans for summer school. If
anyone is planning to make up a failed class through this program please get an
application from Mrs. Voss and visit about the appropriate classes to take.
Summer session will begin May 29th and conclude June 26th. Students can take a
maximum of 15 credit hours (3
semester classes) at a cost $150 per class due at the time of registration.
