The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) gives parents/guardians the right to get information about the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teachers. The following information is provided through this request:

  1. Whether the teacher has met State qualifications and licensing criteria for the grade level(s) and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction.

  2. Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency or provisional teaching certificate.

  3. The degree and major of the teacher where applicable to their teaching assignment and certification.

Requests should be made the the Superintendent of Schools in writing.
